CNC Programmer/Machinist

DUTIES:

Program and operate Fanuc & HAAS vertical CNC milling centers to manufacture custom machined parts.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
• Technical or college degree required
• Minimum five years’ experience in CNC programming using MasterCAM, and operating CNC machines
• Working knowledge of basic inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, various gauges, and other inspection equipment
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, 3D CAD, workmanship standards, and ISO standards
• Computer skills, knowledge of various CAD systems
• Good manual dexterity for handling precise small fragile components 
• Individual who requires minimum supervision and shows initiative in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrates a solid understanding of customer requirements
• Individual who communicates well, has superior problem solving skills, works well in a group and as an individual contributor
• Ability to pass Pre-employment drug screening

Hours are Monday through Thursday 6:00am to 4:30pm

Molding Technician

PURPOSE OF JOB:

Ensures that standards set forth by the Plant Managers continue throughout the production process. Additionally, the Molding Technician is involved in continuous improvement of the production process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The Molding Technician will perform duties required to assist with mold set-ups and the troubleshooting of plastic injection molding machines.


Job Responsibilities:
• Read specifications sheet to determine machine set-up and prescribed settings and verify correct set-up of molds, presses, and auxiliary equipment before machine start up
• Position, align, and secure assembled mold or mold components, and machine accessories, onto machine using hoist, power tools and hand tools
• Set machine controls to regulate specified machine pressure and plastic curing time and other parameters per set-up sheet and adjust machine to coordinate flow of plastic and coolant to molds
• Measure and visually inspect product for surface and dimensional defects using a microscope, micrometer, and other gages.
• Set-up and adjust automatic compression, injection, or transfer machines used to mold plastic materials specified to shape, following drawings, and utilizing knowledge of machine functions
• Obtain mold approval for first article molds
• Assist with the set-up and maintenance of auxiliary equipment, including granulators, conveyors, liquid temperature controls, and mold electrical control

 

EDUCATION:

Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience, Bachelor’s degree preferred.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:

 ISO, Six Sigma, or other Lean certification preferred.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in molding/production. Continuous improvement experience preferred.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

• Possess excellent organization skills, communication skills, and attention to detail.

• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with production workers and supervisors.

• Ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written form, including small group presentations.

• Possess basic shop mathematics skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fraction/decimal conversion, percentage calculation, etc.

• Ability to take initiative and work independently.

• Proficient in computer use and common software programs including Microsoft Office.

 

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to bend, twist, reach, grasp, stand, walk and perform fine manipulation with fingers.

• Lift/carry up to 50 pounds alone.

• Close vision, color perception, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

• Exposed to excessive noise, dust, fumes or chemicals on the shop floor.

• Intermittently exposed to inclement weather.

Plastic Injection Mold/Toolmaker

Position Summary: To build, repair and alter plastic injection molds and fixtures of extremely complex and precise nature.


REQUIREMENTS: 
Education: Preferred 2 years technical or trade school with an emphasis on tool making or equivalent experience
Licensing/Registration/Certification: Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States
Experience: Preferred 2 years mold making in a tool shop environment or equivalent technical school experience


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES:
• Skills: Technical mathematical skills; the ability to multitask, work on several projects at the same time without losing the ability to complete them on time and within customer specifications; communicate with other departments and customers in a professional and respectful manner; basic computer skills.
Knowledge: To efficiently build plastic injection molds safely within customer specifications; proficient knowledge of several processes within the shop; understanding of blue print reading.
• Abilities: To be able to perform daily tasks safely; To work independently with limited supervision
• Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them within a timely manner; Ability to make decisions with limited information

Quality Technician

PURPOSE OF JOB:
Ensures that standards set forth by the Plant Managers continue throughout the production process. A Quality Assurance (QA) Technician inspects and detects non-conformance, notifies managers and supervisors of the results, and prevents defects from reaching customers. Additionally, the QA Technician is involved in continuous improvement of the production process.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Perform process audits of employee quality inspections & equipment setup and conditions to ensure process controls are observed. Examples of Process Audits the QA will perform are checking the dimensions of molded components and precision machined parts.
• Verify products conform to engineering specifications (size, labeling, cosmetics, etc.).
• Check operation of products.
• Inspect product to ensure standards are met (clean, free from dirt/marks/scratches, proper labeling, etc.).
• Assist production in identifying root cause of defect trends then recommend corrective/containment action as appropriate.
• Identify and segregate nonconforming raw materials for disposition.
• Verify methods by updating Hour-By-Hour boards with current information, inspecting Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) compliance, and completing Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) audits.
• Review reject and defect trends with production supervisors.
• Calculate quality scores from inspection and audit results with 5S model.
• Participate in Kaizen Events.
• Measure and update weekly labor audit time studies.
